Funk-jazz and Instrumental Soul

Founded and led by Jayson Tipp, founder of the Top 50 Smooth Jazz Group Under The Lake, Funk-Jazz-Formation was formed out of the 2018 Under The Lake release "Jazz, Groove & Attitude" a concept album in tribute to The Crusaders. The same players from that album perform a playlist of classic and modern funk jazz ranging from Grant Green, The Crusaders, Eddie Harris, Herbie Hancock to more recent favorites from John Scofield, The New Mastersounds, and Medeski, Martin & Wood as well as some of Under The Lake's most popular tunes with tenor and trombone line-up. 

With the same line-up that appeared at the 2018 PDX Jazz Fest and 2018 Cathedral Park Jazz Fest, Funk-Jazz-Formation is available for private parties, corporate events in addition to festival and venue bookings in the Pacific Northwest.
